Aethra Telecommunications is the commercial brand of A TLC S.r.l., established in 2009 to acquire the networking business unit and telecommunications assets of Aethra S.p.A..

Aethra built its foundations in the early years of digital communications in the 70s, and grew exponentially in the 80s and 90s with several millions of ISDN NTs installed in more than 60 countries worldwide. At the dawn of the 21st century, Aethra confirmed its leadership in the telecommunications industry and its role as a strategic partner in the innovation of the network, by launching its first integrated access device embedding DSL connectivity into a voice-over-IP gateway.

Universal CPE Solutions for SME

Aethra Telecommunications Universal CPE solutions are fully embedded access devices developed to help bring virtualization to small and medium enterprises.

All the solutions are based on Intel x86 architecture, with 2, 4 and up to 8 cores to guarantee the maximum flexibility and the best performances for the most demanding applications.

With uCPE, the hardware already present in the customer site (the access router) is capable to host virtual functions that can be installed remotely and automatically. When the customer orders a new service in the CSP portal, the new virtual function is installed and activated automatically by the network itself.

Application scenarios include virtual security (as firewalls, DPIs…), WAN accelerators, SD-WAN and a full set of enterprise grade software that can be hosted in the access router for unparalleled scalability.
