Saguna Networks’ CODS is a patented application, content acceleration and caching platform for mobile RANs, composed from an array of dedicated software nodes. CODS nodes are integrated into the mobile network as follows:
CODS-ANTM (CODS Access Node): integrated into the eNodeB or into the network backhaul (S1-U interface), adjacent to the Base Station (BS) elements or aggregation points.
CODS-TKTM to the S-GW that converts packets marked by the CODS-MR into tokens.(CODS Tokenizer): a node implemented on the S5/S8 link or the S1-U interface adjacent to the S-GW that converts packets marked by the CODS-MR into tokens.
The solution is totally transparent to all network equipment and layers (transport, mobility, and service), as well as User Equipment (UE) devices. It enables any application to run from the edge of the network, performing caching and scheduling decisions based on data and content type, consequently adding “Content Awareness” to the network.
