The cloudification of the network started with the introduction of SDN and NFV architectures in Telco networks and the network cloud is getting further distributed to the edge with the advancement in Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) technologies.
This represents tremendous opportunities for the operators to turn Network in to a Distributed Cloud Platform that enables seamless delivery of customer experience based on the needs of the services. With 5G deployments the network will be challenged to delivery variety of services with differing requirements over the same network.
