For example firewall performance of up to 600Gbps can be achieved by combining four 100GE smart IO cards based on FM10000 with 22 Intel Xeon-Ds populating the balance of MaxCore™’s 15 PCIe slots. The result is a system with 15x the density of a comparable rack mount server implementation. In addition, by using low power multicore processors, the system can cut energy consumption by up to 70%.
