Qosmos Classifier®

The Qosmos Classifier is a standalone software component, which classifies traffic flows in real time for further processing in e.g. switches, routers, PCEF, firewalls, passive probes, etc. It recognizes traffic up to Layer 7 using Deep Packet Inspection and associated techniques (heuristics, statistical, behavioral, etc.). It is typically located in the packet data path (although it can also be out-of-band), and it is built from the inception to be integrated within industry reference frameworks (SFC, SDN, NFV, and Open Source), and managed by industry reference frameworks, (ODL SFC, OpenStack GBP, ODL GBP). The Qosmos Classifier has been designed according to IETF Service Function Chaining (SFC) standards. Systems integrators and solution vendors can leverage this service classifier to enable intelligent, dynamic service chaining for mobile Gi-LAN or enterprise environments (e.g. WAN or vCPE).
