We are delighted to announce the availability of Radisys’ Integrated Access Backhaul (IAB) solution in our continued collaboration with Intel. This enables quick deployment of 5G RAN access and expanded network capacity in remote or inaccessible terrain where fiber or microwave links are not feasible or expensive.

Our IAB solution offers 3GPP Release 16 compliant Relay node and Donor node functionalities:

• Donor gNB, with Donor CU over F1 interface, connecting to the 5G core network;


• Relay gNB, with IAB-DU and IAB-MT functionalities connecting to donor gNB;


• Support for FR-1 and FR-2 bands.

Radisys 5G RAN IAB software based on Intel® FlexRAN™ Reference Architecture on a small footprint Intel® Xeon D platform with dual radios providing access and backhaul links. This enables Radisys software to run both IAB-Donor and IAB-Relay nodes on a single compact form factor board.
