Welcome to the Intel training. This short session will explain the purpose of the training, the agenda for the two days and help us understand your goals.

Examine the new features available with 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors (formerly Cascade Lake) and Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory (formerly Apache Pass). Attendees will also see the application of these features through use cases, benchmarking and SKU introduction. Get to know all the new features and capabilities so you can easily apply them to your relevant products and services for optimal performance.

Intel is continually adding new features and innovative new products to the roadmap. With detailed knowledge of what is to come you can understand the features and products to best incorporate into your solutions for complete optimization and best possible performance. This session provides the opportunity to better understand the portfolio of complementary Intel Network technologies from processors to NICs and software.

This session will introduce Intel® Select Solutions and the value and benefit they provide. Intel Select Solutions are verified solutions configurations that are aimed to speed selection and deployment of data center and communications network infrastructure. Learn how your company can benefit from these configurations and ways to get involved.

OpenNESS is designed to foster open collaboration and application innovation at the network and enterprise edge. OpenNESS is an open-source reference software that Intel is making available to enable the ecosystem to create and deploy new edge applications and services. It helps simplify network complexity for developers and enables secure on-boarding of edge services.

This short introduction to our lab will describe the lab setup and methodology. This is also the time to ensure all participants are able to access the remote servers and fully participate in the hands-on portion of the day.

This deep dive, hands-on lab introduces learners to a new feature in the Gen 2 Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor (formerly Cascade Lake) called Intel® Speed Select Technology - Base Frequency. This will also introduce Intel® VTune™ Platform Profiler as a powerful tool to explore how a platform is being utilized, where there are potential bottlenecks, and how networking workloads are performing.

Welcome back to the Intel training. This short session will recap the important points from day one and preview what we'll cover in day two.

This session will give you guidance on the available resources and support offered by different programs and initiatives at Intel. Use this information to identify the best ways to deepen your engagement and get the support you need to create innovative and fully optimized solutions on Intel Architecture.

In Day 2, we focus on various tools available to assist in optimizing your networking solutions on Intel Architecture. An overview will be presented on the different tools available and how and when to best use them in your development.

In lab 2 we explore the power advantages of vectorization and SIMD including SSE, Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (Intel® AVX2), and Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions 512 (Intel® AVX-512). A hands on introduction to optimized math libraries will be presented to showcase the advantages of vectorized computation.

Lab 3 introduces an environment for profiling your networking software and understanding in detail how efficiently it operates by analyzing cache misses and branch misprediction.
