Open Standards

Open source standards organizations foster industry-wide collaboration and innovation on technologies that propel the industry forward. Intel® is a leading contributor to a number of open source projects including those that are advancing network functions virtualization (NFV) and software defined networking (SDN). Intel's involvement in these open standards organizations includes 3GPP, Cloud Native Computing Foundation, European Telecommunications Standards Institute, Linux Foundation Edge, Open Network Foundation (ONF), Open RAN Alliance (O-RAN Alliance), Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), Open Container Initiative (OCI).

Intel Network Builders is the perfect place for active ecosystem partners and end-user members to gain access to a wide range of supporting documentation for the open source work that Intel engineers are involved in. This information will help you understand Intel's involvement in each of these organizations and how to make use of Intel's contributions as well as how this translates in to more efficient and optimized use of your infrastructure leading to an enhanced and improved end customer experience.
