High Performance Computing
Computing power is the core of the network applications. NEXCOM offers a wide range of computing platforms, from low-end x86 Atom and Core i CPUs to high-end Scalable Xeon Processors to meet different computing power needs.
Network technology is the key to intelligent network applications. Technology embodied in the intelligent network platform designed by NEXCOM forms a complete range of network interface, from 1GbE to 100GbE, from the RJ45 copper interface to the QSFP28 fiber interface, NEXCOM invests on cutting-edge network technologies and will continue to lead this industry. In addition to wired technology, NEXCOM also offers wireless technologies, including WiFi/BT, LTE to allow customers a one-stop shop for all their needs.
The very basis of network application comes down to processing packets. The data characteristics of network packets are different from other data. So instead of using CPU to handle network packets, in some network applications such as VPN, forwarding, deep packet inspection, etc., the acceleration engine that designed for network packet processing is critical to enhancing overall application performance. The intelligent network platform provided by NEXCOM integrates Intel® QAT technology is used as an acceleration engine for packet encryption and decryption. NEXCOM is proficient in DPDK's tuning to help customers to improve the processing speed of network packets through DPDK.
It is vital for IT & OR personnel to efficiently manage and maintain a large number of network platforms deployed in different locations and keep the operational costs to the minimum. In light of this, NEXCOM integrates various remote management technologies, such as Intel® AMT vProTM, IPMI, etc., to provide customers with management interfaces for In-band and out-of-band, significantly reducing the operational burden and maintenance costs of onsite IT personnel.
Nowadays corporations of all sizes demand network availability and stability. Cost of network downtime can sometimes be astronomical and a DRP plan is usually called for to reduce the risks of network failure, data loss, and on-line transaction. NEXCOM's intelligent network platform consists a WDT (Watch Dog Timer) mechanism, which allows soft-reboot with software functions. NEXCOM also integrates Dual BIOS, RAID Storage, Hot Swappable Fans, Fan and PSU redundancy, and other technologies to maintain service availability. For the backup between platforms, NEXCOM's intelligent network platform is also designed with LAN bypass function. When a hardware fails, LAN bypass function automatically redirects the traffic to another platform. By integrating such layers of mechanisms, NEXCOM’s intelligent network platform is capable to maintain the availability of services.
Pending on different user cases, network configuration varies. Generally, nodes closer to the core network require higher network bandwidth and less ports, and nodes closer to the access network need more ports and less network bandwidth. In some special applications, it is possible to combine high and low bandwidth and different port numbers on the same platform. NEXCOM specializes in modular design, providing a comprehensive series of network modules, when incorporated into NEXCOM's intelligent network platforms, providing maximum flexibility to optimize its network configuration for their application scenarios.
