The industry is welcoming WireGuard* as the next generation VPN protocol. Currently, early usage of WireGuard includes multi-cloud connectivity to secure nodes both in the same location as well as across locations. This document highlights the performance difference of WireGuard processed by VPP WireGuard with Intel® AVX-512 instructions, and VPP WireGuard with Intel® QAT on the same 4th Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor.
