Chapter Overview
Virtual switching has become a necessity with increased virtualization – single servers hosting multiple machines. Open vSwitch is a production quality, multilayer virtual switch licensed under the open-source Apache 2 license. It is designed to enable network automation through programmatic extension, while still supporting standard switching management interfaces and protocols.
