Intel® Network Builders University Expands with Diverse New Offerings

At the OpenStack* Summit in Barcelona, Intel announced the launch of the Intel® Builders University. This is an expansion of the Intel® Network Builders University, which now includes access to content from the Intel® Storage Builders and Intel® Cloud Builders programs.

Members of each Intel® Builders program have access to training material across all three domains (cloud, storage, and network), including material that is not available to the public. All members need to do to access the material is log in with their existing Intel Builders program credentials and click on the University tab.

The Intel® Network Builders University also launched a new OpenStack* program with two new courses and added a new course to the Intel® QuickAssist Technology program (membership in an Intel Builders program is required for access to Intel QuickAssist Technology trainings).

Anyone who has taken classes through Intel Network Builders University has been automatically enrolled in the Intel Builders University and can access the expanded curriculum at builders.intel.com/university.

If you are not a member of an Intel Builders program, you still can access many of the courses by creating an Intel Builders University account here.

Register Now for December's Intel® Network Builders End User Summit

The transformation of the network has moved from being an uncertain business opportunity to representing the necessary foundation for communications service providers (CommSPs) to meet evolving customer demands while staying competitive. The successful adoption of SDN- and NFV-based solutions is a fundamental step toward network transformation, and staying connected with a vibrant ecosystem of providers is the fastest and most assured path to achieve all the benefits of a virtualized network.

The Intel® Network Builders End User Summit on December 5 is an exclusive opportunity to engage with solutions providers, meet peer CommSPs, and discuss the latest solution innovations that will help drive your network and cloud services roadmap forward. The summit, held in conjunction with Carrier Network Virtualization, will deliver a full-day agenda with pertinent sessions and presentations on key network topics. It will also provide engagement opportunities for you and your company to connect with peers and customers who are also driving the network transformation effort.

Spaces are limited, so please register today to guarantee your place. For the most recent version of the day's agenda and to register, visit the End User Summit event page.

Intel® Builders October Events

In a continued effort to drive ecosystem collaboration and spark the technical innovation that will transform the network, the Intel® Network Builders program continues to deliver a robust series of events. Most recently, our ecosystem gathered in the Netherlands for a summit in conjunction with the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress, and took advantage of a vibrant agenda of keynote presentations, panel discussions, and technical deep dives. The day capped off with a reception co-hosted with Red Hat.* Presentations from the event will be posted to the Intel Network Builders member portal, so you can re-visit a favorite presentation or see what you missed.

The Intel Builders Summit in Barcelona brought together experts from our cloud, storage, and network ecosystems on October 24 at Pullman Barcelona Skipper. The event offered in-demand technical deep dives, delivered through six Intel Builders member presentations, two panel discussions, and two Intel-led tutorial sessions. It featured numerous powerful speakers from the industry, led by Gene Kim, an author, researcher, and founder and former CTO of Tripwire. His talk discussed how driving toward high-performing IT and DevOps implementation is analogous to general business management.

The day also included a number of important announcements for the Intel Builders community. The launches of the Intel® Builders University and the Intel® Builders Construction Zone were announced. For details on the latter program, log in to the Intel Builders member portal.

At the end of the day, partners made new business connections and informally discussed emerging technologies while enjoying a reception by the beautiful Mediterranean shore.

Technical Training: Apply Now for the Intel® Developer Zone NFV/DPDK Devlab

Applications are now being accepted for this two day event featuring training from Intel technical experts, hands-on learning opportunities, and a team competition.

The first day will be a DPDK deep dive, with the first half dedicated to the architecture and code of DPDK core libraries. By the end, you'll be able to play around with the IP pipeline sample app and develop the code around it. The session will end with a talk on how AT&T is using these technologies in a real-world PoC.

In the second day, you'll get your hands dirty with FD.io (a software switch), IPSec/containers, and ONOS. The day will end with you forming teams and proposing an open source project you want to work on. You'll get hardware access for 15 days after the workshop to work on your project, and you will need to submit your project before December 23. We will declare winners by January 12, and the winning teams will get a chance to speak at a subsequent event and other prizes.

For information on how to apply for this event and details on the competition and its prizes, visit the event webpage.
