Ice Wireless* Deploys Parallel Wireless* to Connect the Unconnected Canadians

With adoption of mobile phones and data in Canada on the rise, the only region that remains poorly connected is northern Canada, where end users and businesses get a fraction of the service available in southern Canada at twice the cost. To increase deployments in northern Canada, Ice Wireless* has used Parallel Wireless'* innovative COTS-based solution, which enabled Ice Wireless to deploy coverage on an accelerated timeline in very harsh Arctic conditions, utilizing any available transport and consuming minimum power for significant TCO savings. Locally deployed for resilience, the sites will fully utilize the SDR capability to incorporate both 3G and 4G/LTE into a single smallest-site footprint. As a result, end users now can enjoy an unlimited wireless plan at $89 CAD per month in a region that was before "frozen" from accessible wireless service.

NFWare Introduces New Carrier-Class NFV-based URL-Filtering Solution

NFWare announces the launch of Virtual URL-Filtering, the software-based solution that allows operators to restrict access to prohibited websites. Designed in accordance with NFV concepts, it is going to be an extremely powerful web filtering product, offering all the benefits of a virtual networking solution. vURL Filtering provides the facility for telecom operators to restrict access to Internet resources without worrying about the violation of a government's regulations. It can also help to safeguard educational institutions from harmful Internet content. At 160 Gbps, it makes 20 million CPS and the total number of concurrent sessions is 100 million. To achieve these results, NFWare used DPDK, Intel® Virtualization Technology (Intel® VT) for IA-32, Intel® 64 and Intel® Architecture (Intel® VT-x), Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) for Directed I/O (Intel® VT-d), and Intel multi-core CPUs technologies. vURL-Filtering continues a line of VNF products developed by NFWare. The company has previously launched Virtual CG-NAT and Virtual ADC.
