Introducing Intel® Select Solutions for NFVI Forwarding Platform
Last month, Intel introduced the new Intel® Select Solutions for NFVI Forwarding Platform. These verified systems of compute, network, storage, and middleware elements can significantly accelerate the introduction of next-generation virtualized solutions into the network, reducing both time to production and TCO.
New Intel® Select Solutions from the Ecosystem
Several partners announced general availability of Intel® Select Solutions for Network in September. These solutions offer a faster and more efficient deployment path for verified, reliable infrastructure in network communications.
Nexcom Launches NSA 7146: The NSA 7146, a verified Intel® Select Solution for NFVI, offers a 2U rackmount network appliance based on the Intel® Xeon® Scalable processor family and delivers a workload-optimized platform for Network Function Virtualization Infrastructure, or NFVI.
Celestica S2122 Flexible Configuration Server: Celestica has partnered with Intel to verify its Celestica S2122 Server as an Intel® Select Solution for Visual Cloud Delivery Network. This lets users benefit from both Celestica's and Intel's experience in the Visual Cloud Delivery Network market and get workload-optimized performance from the Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors.
Lanner Video Transport Gateway NCA-6210: Lanner and Intel have collaborated to verify Intel® Select Solution for Visual Cloud Delivery Network on NCA-6210. The solution enables robust, high-performance video transcoding and analytics while reducing the latency for immersive media enhancement, targeting at AR/VR applications.
Intel® Select Solutions for uCPE with Advantech White Boxes: The Advantech FWA-3050 & FWA-5070 provide the ultimate choice in white-box uCPE scalability and are verified as Intel® Select Solutions for uCPE.
Premier uCPE Platform: KGPCo's PREMIER Pi-CON uCPE portfolio, based on Intel® Select Solutions for uCPE, replaces fixed-function network appliances with a white-box platform suitable for a wide range of applications.
Intel® Network Builders University Announces New Visual Cloud Course – Introduction to Media Analytics
The Intel Network Builders University continues to develop its Visual Cloud Program this month with the addition of Introduction to Media Analytics. This course introduces the five steps to creating a media analytics application and touches on the Intel® Deep Learning Deployment Toolkit and the hardware needed to create a media analytics application.
Intel® Network Builders University Announces Two New Courses on Spectrum
The Intel Network Builders University expanded its Communications Service Provider program this month with the addition of two new courses covering Spectrum.
More about the Intel® Network Builders University
There are more than 198 courses available across five languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese & Korean), with new content released each month. The online portion of the university is available to Intel® Network Builders program members through a simple registration here and for the public here. Intel Network Builders University is one of three learning centers in Intel® Builders, which also includes the Intel® Data Center Builders University and Intel® AI Academy. Registrants have access to content in both learning centers.
Please take a look and after exploring the offerings, let us know what content you would like to see added to the university.

Path to a Cloud-Native Broadband Network Gateway (BNG) with Kubernetes
The latency and performance of containerized virtual network functions (VNFs) can be significantly improved when VNFs can better utilize the underlying infrastructure in a network functions virtualization (NFV) environment. Advancing this objective, Intel has demonstrated how an opensource, container orchestration system, called Kubernetes, can be used to ensure VNFs are able to take advantage of specialized hardware platform features, such as single root input/output virtualization (SR-IOV) and CPU pinning. This case study details this effort based on a virtual broadband network gateway (vBNG) use case that employs Kubernetes on an Intel® hardware platform to deploy high-performant VNFs that benefit from advanced infrastructure management and optimized resource allocation.
