Intel® Network Builders University Announces New OpenNESS Courses

Intel Network Builders University is expanding its OpenNESS program course offerings this month with the addition of five new courses which cover the architectural approach to edge computing adopted by OpenNESS and provide a walkthrough from an operational and deployment point of view. Topics include: APIs available in OpenNESS, example applications, reference configurations, accelerators, and 3GPP 5G network architecture.

With more than 309 courses available and new content released each month, The Intel® Network Builders University includes a broad collection of online content and face-to-face technical training to help technical professionals in the network industry to improve their knowledge of key Intel® technologies, industry trends, and technical aspects of NFV deployments. Closed captioning in multiple languages is now available for a growing number of courses. The online portion of the university is available to Intel® Network Builders program members through a simple registration here and for the public here.

Altiostar has released their new Solution Brief on RAN Transformation with Open Interfaces and Disaggregation

To address industry trends, Altiostar has developed Open virtualized RAN (Open vRAN), an open software platform with open interfaces that can be executed on Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) hardware platforms. Altiostar has worked to integrate its Open vRAN software solution with an ecosystem of COTS hardware partners like Intel Technologies. Running a RAN on general purpose hardware brings down the cost of deployment due to economies of scale. Meanwhile, open interfaces promote interoperability and programmability of the RAN.
