Intel Hosts Data-Centric Innovation Day
On April 2nd, Intel unveiled a new portfolio of data-centric solutions consisting of 2nd-Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel Optane DC memory and storage solutions, and software and platform technologies optimized to help its customers extract more value from their data. Intel's latest data center solutions target a wide range of use cases within cloud computing, network infrastructure and intelligent edge applications, and support high-growth workloads, including AI and 5G.
Building on more than 20 years of world-class data center platforms and deep customer collaboration, Intel's data center solutions target server, network, storage, internet of things (IoT) applications and workstations. The portfolio of products advances Intel's data-centric strategy to pursue a massive $300 billion data-driven market opportunity.
The launch event included addresses from Navin Shenoy, Intel's Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Data Center Group (DCG), and Lisa Spelman, DCG's Vice President and General Manager of Intel Xeon Products and Data Center Marketing. The event also featured a robust lineup of executive presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions, and demonstrations.

Intel Select Solutions are verified solutions configurations that are aimed to speed selection and deployment of data center and communications network infrastructure. The solutions are developed from deep Intel experience with industry solution providers, as well as extensive collaboration with the world's leading data center and service providers. The three courses designed for the Intel Network Builders University provide details on the network specific workload configurations and an overview of the Intel Select Solutions portfolio and brand.

There are more than 182 courses available across five languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese & Korean), with new content released each month. The online portion of the university is available to all Intel® Network Builders program members and the public through a simple registration here. Intel Network Builders University is one of two learning centers in Intel® Builders University, which also includes the Intel® Data Center Builders University. Registrants have access to all of the content in the two learning centers.

Open Source MANO Hackfest (Santa Clara) - May 13th -17th
Intel is hosting the 6th Open Source MANO Hackfest on May 13th -17th, 2019. OSM or, Open Source MANO is an European Telecommunications Standards Institute hosted project to develop an Open Source NFV Management and Orchestration (MANO) software stack aligned with ETSI NFV. The Hackfest will be hosted by Intel in Santa Clara; co-located with the OSM #7 plenary meeting, offering a great opportunity to share and learn with OSM developers and module leaders, and explore further opportunities for synergies and collaboration. Intel will also be hosting OSM's first ever VNF Day on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 as a follow up to the highly successful 5G Day held during the last OSM Hackfest in Barcelona.
The VNF Day will consist of a kick-off key note by the VNF Onboarding Task Force Chair, Gianpietro Lavado, to highlight the importance of VNF technology in network transformation; followed by a series of 20-30 minute presentations revealing the commercial application of the specific VNF solutions/capabilities and the role of OSM in their solutions. Intel will also deliver a presentation introducing a new VNF optimization training program available to VNF solution providers through Intel Network Builders.
